Mink Trapping Made Easy With "The Mink Trapping Professor"
Fellow Mink Trapper,
May is here. This month is one of my favorites for taking inventory and modifying equipment. I like to clean and organize my traps and get them ready for treatment. Here at MinkTrapping.com we understand that to have a successful season you need more than a week of preparation. Don't be the procrastinator, read the tips provided in our forum and prepare for a great 2012-2013 season starting today.
With a fur check I'd like to brag about but won't I'll just say I got some of the thousands I'd spent back. I was pleasantly surprised with $11 muskrats, $40 gray fox, and nice prices across the board for my mink, reds, coyote and even my skunks. Fur prices have been encouraging as world demand recognizes the beauty and warmth! Opportunity is around every bend in the road and at every piece of water we identify. This good fortune may come in the form of many disguised challenges. Look for the opportunity within each hurdle you face. As we embrace the upcoming convention seasons let's promote the fun of our sport and the benefits of becoming involved. We are living in the land of opportunity and this is prime time for Mink Trapping. This past season taught us how to operate in a variety of weather. Here at MinkTrapping.com it is always Mink Season so we will strive to help you find the answer to all of your mink trapping questions. The time for planning for next year is already upon us. The members of MinkTrapping.com want to help you reach your goals. So while Punxsutawney Phil revealed his prognostication and announced in Groundhogese that we only had 6 more weeks of winter we as mink trappers must recognize that what you do today can result in more mink on your stretchers next year.
Our season passed quickly and some of us juggled a multispecies trapline while others had focused on mink only. THink ahead now to next season. What could you do better and what did you do well? Learn and develop your plan during the preseason and continue to prospect with next season in mind. Prospecting at the end of the season and after this season is almost like cheating because you can learn so much which will help you make better decisions next year. Good luck. Remember Mink Trapping is not a series of unrelated events. What you do today will effect tomorrow.
A trapline is a journey of development.
Did you ever ask yourself why you aren't catching more mink than that other guy or are you just trying to catch your first mink? If you're like me, mink trapping is more than a hobby. Minkin' is a way of life! May your New Year be filled with many smiles on your face and the faces of those you meet! Best of luck and Best wishes for 2012. I sure hope you all had a Happy Groundhog Day!

Before and during the season there is much to do to prepare and perform. Still don't forget to spend some quality time with family.
